Moot Court Society

The Moot Court Society is one of the most treasured societies available for the students to uphold the benchmark of excellence that has been set by the college. The main responsibilities of the Moot Court Society are to facilitate the mooting activities in the college and to organize international-national and in-house moot courts and Trial Advocacy competitions. Students who join the Moot Court Society are introduced and given optimum training and guidance by the faculty, senior students and experts in the different fields of law. Each student is encouraged to participate and represent the college in international-national competitions.

NLC has organized the following moot courts and Trial Advocacy competitions to date:

·         Justice P.N Bhagwati International Moot Court Competition on Human Rights

·         Surana and Surana National Trial Advocacy Competition

·         Intra- College Moot Court competition for the first and second-year students.

·         Intra- College Moot Court competition for the third, fourth and final year students.

·         Selection Rounds for choosing teams for representing the college in National and International competitions.

·         Outstanding performance at curricular and extra-curricular activities.

·         Outstanding Alumni – Judges of Supreme Court, High Court, District Court, JMFC, Sr. Advocate, Corporate Officer, Legal Advisor, Income Tax Officers, LPOs, Academicians and Solicitors at the UK.

·         Ex-student Ms. Mrunmai Joshi cleared UPSC Examination. More than 90% of the students qualified AIBE 2015-16.

Conferences/Talks

·         More than 110 Judges from High Courts and Supreme Court have delivered a legal discourse at the national seminars and workshops organized by the college.

·         Guidance and counselling to the students from eminent individuals of the field such as Sr. Advocate Ram Jethmalani, Soli Sorabjee, Late Advocate P.P. Rao, Abhishek Manu Singhvi, M.C. Mehta, Geeta Luthra and Pinky Anand, etc.

Auditorium and Conference Hall

The New Law College houses a state-of-the-art auditorium named ABHIJEET KADAM AUDITORIUM equipped with modern equipment. It was inaugurated in the presence of Hon’ble Mr. Justice P. Sathasivam (Judge of Supreme Court), Hon’ble Shri K. Venkatapathy (Law Minister, Govt. of Maharashtra), and Hon’ble Smt. Justice V.K. Tahilramani (Judge of Bombay high court). This auditorium acts as a platform for students and faculty members to engage in interactive sessions. Various events like lectures, seminars, conferences, parents-teachers sessions, and other college activities are conducted here..

Aside from the auditorium, we also have a well-furnished conference hall. It serves as a specialized unit for our activities. From decision-making to conflict resolution, important discussions take place under the roof of our conference hall. We also hold conference meetings to discuss how we can improve individual performances and increase the productivity of our college.
